Materials

Worsted weight yarn : 10 oz violet 3 oz variegated

size H / 8 crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

8 1/2 inch-piece of cardboard

Tapestry needle

Gauge :

Scarf : 14 stitches = 4 inches;8 rows = 4 inches

Scarf 

Row 1 : With violet , chain 61,single crochet in second chain from hook ,skip next 2 chains , 3 double crochet in next chain,[chain 3 ,skip next 3 chains , single crochet in next chain , skip next 2 chains , 3 double crochet in next chain ] 8 times , Turn.

 Row 2 :chain 1, single crochet in first double crochet , 3 double crochet in next single crochet [ chain 3 , single crochet in next chain-3 space , 3 double crochet in next single crochet ] 8 times , Turn.

Repeat row 2 until scarf measures 60 inches , fasten off .

Tassel :

Wrap variegated yarn around cardboard 10 times for each tassel . cut bottom edge of strands in half ,insert hook in chain-3 space , draw fold through to form a loop , pull gently to secure.Repeat tassel in each chain-3 space on each end of scarf.

SKI BAND

Row 1 : with violet , chain 76 , single crochet in second chain from hook , single crochet in each in each remaining chain across, changing to variegated in last stitch, fasten off violet,Turn ( so you made 75 single crochet ).

 Row 2 :Chain 1 , single crochet in each stitch across , turn.

Row 3 : Chain 2 ( counts as first half double crochet throughout ), half double crochet in each stitch across , turn.

Row 4 : Repeat row 2

Row 5 : Chain 2 [ skip next single crochet , front post double crochet around half double crochet directly below skip single crochet , half double crochet in next single crochet ] repeat across , turn.

Row 6 : Repeat row 2

 Row 7 : Chain 2, half double crochet in next single crochet [ skip next single crochet , front post double crochet around half double crochet directly below skip single crochet , half double crochet in next single crochet ] repeat across , turn.

 Row 8 : Repeat row 2

 Rows 9 & 10 : Repeat rows 5 and 6 . At the end of row 6 , change to violet in last stitch , fasten off variegated , turn.

 Row 11 : Chain 1 , single crochet in each stitch across , fasten off.
